Mexican Trucks Ready To Roll

To The Editor:

“Roll ‘em, roll ‘em, roll ‘em” is a battle cry that will be heard in the coming days, weeks and months regarding the opening of borders to allow trucks bringing goods to and from Canada, the United States and Mexico to freely travel throughout all three countries.

For the past six years, the National Association of Independent Insurers has publicly supported the North American Free Trade Agreement, but we were concerned that the condition of many Mexican motor vehicles made it necessary to enact regulations for stronger safety measures before allowing foreign trucks and drivers to roll along on U.S. highways.
