Money-Laundering Law Could Drown Agents In Costs

Everyone is naturally eager to do their part in the war on terrorism. The direct approach, of course, is physical combat, such as the war in Afghanistan.

However, another way to combat the terrorists is to cut off their financial lifeline. Last year’s passage of the USA Patriot Act in the wake of Sept. 11 was an important step in this campaign, helping law enforcement officers trace the assets of terrorist groups and crack down on money-laundering schemes.
