MGAs Urge Agents To Help Themselves

The message for retail agents seeking homes for hard-to-place business is one they probably heard as children: “God helps those who help themselves.”

And if theyve been paying attention, theyve been hearing that message for close to a year from wholesale brokers and managing general agents, who specialize in placing difficult risks. (See NU, May 28, 2001, page 3).

Indeed, wholesalers and MGAs, when asked how they can and are helping their retail agent customers as the market hardens, seemed puzzled by the question.
