Marsh Establishes Intellectual Practice

NU Online News Service, May 22, 12:53 p.m. EST?New York City-based insurance broker Marsh Inc. said it has formed an Intellectual Asset Management Practice.

The new practice, part of the firm's risk consulting operations, will provide consulting and related services to businesses seeking to protect their intellectual property rights and manage risks associated with intellectual property infringement.

Joby A. Hughes, a pioneer in intellectual property risk management, was appointed to head the practice.

Donald Birdsong, a managing director of Marsh and head of its risk consulting practice, said Marsh would provide clients with an extensive range of consulting services to help protect their intellectual property rights, manage risks associated with infringement and other potential damages, and increase revenues derived from proprietary intellectual property.

Services being offered will include strategies for enforcing intellectual property rights, as well as support services for those involved in defending against infringement or misappropriation claims. The new practice would complement the broker's intellectual property risk solutions practice.
