Larry Acord Named PIA-CCEO Chairman

NU Online News Service, March 13, 10:45 a.m. EST?Larry Acord, an executive with Main Street America Group, has been appointed chairman of the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents Company Council of Executive Officers, PIA announced today in Washington.

Founded in 1996 with start-up funding from PIA National, the CCEO identifies areas of opportunity in the agency-company partnership and conducts solution-oriented research.

A charter member of the PIA-CCEO, Mr. Acord is vice president of home office sales and communications for Main Street America Group, which includes National Grange Mutual Insurance Company and Old Dominion Insurance.

He joined National Grange Mutual in Keene, N.H., as the vice president of marketing in 1997 and moved to his current post last year.

Comprised of senior insurance company executives, the PIA-CCEO identifies areas of opportunity in the agency-company partnership, facilitates dialogue between company executives and PIA leaders, and conducts solution-oriented research designed to enable both to profit from these opportunities.

The most recent PIA-CCEO project is “The Value Difference: Transforming Agency Culture.” Mr. Acord said that as chairman he is “proud to be able to lead the PIA-CCEO in its cutting-edge work to enable carriers and agents to achieve profitable partnerships and long-term growth.”

PIA is a national trade association, which represents more than 180,000 member insurance agents and their employees.
