IRA Bombs Show RM Value Of Disaster Plans

After having lived through the destructive effects on business continuity of two IRA bombs, U.K. public sector risk manager Sharon Roots has seen first-hand what happens to an organization without, and then with, a disaster plan.

Before taking on her current job as risk manager for Newham Council (a municipality in the East End of London), Ms. Roots worked for a London insurance broker that had its offices destroyed–twice–as a result of Irish Republican Army car bombs.
