Allison Losses Top $1 Billion

Allison, the killer tropical storm that deluged five states last week, caused more than $1 billion of insured losses in Texas alone, according to industry estimates.

In Texas, where Allison poured down 32 inches of rain and killed at least 15 people, the state is “looking at over $1 billion in [insured] damages,” including flood claim damage covered by the National Flood Insurance Program, reported Sandra Ray of the Southwestern Insurance Information Service in Austin.
