The Georgia Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire published a directive informing insurers that they may not cancel policies for non-payment in counties affected by Hurricane Isaias.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp issued a state of emergency on October 8, 2026, for all 159 Georgia counties due to Hurricane Isaias. Since many residents may not have access to mailing and postal services, they won't be able to ensure prompt payment of their premiums. For that reason, insurers may not cancel policies for nonpayment until the directive is lifted.

The directive can be found here.
