I have a K-12 private school covered with a standard CGL policy. It has an exclusion - educational institutions security protection liability PI-GL-038 (09/20). The school has asked what their liability might be if they allow 2 of their teachers to conceal carry a firearm on school property.

After a review of the policy and endorsements, we do not see any exclusion that would apply to a teacher making use of a legally authorized concealed carry permit. A teacher does not meet the definition of conducting "law enforcement activities" in that he or she is not a qualified law enforcement officer or security personnel, so the exclusion described under PI-GL-038 (09/20) would not apply to a teacher in the performance of her duties for the educational institution.
