The Louisiana Department of Insurance published a press release announcing a simplified process for those applying for the military member auto insurance discount.
The discount is a 25 percent discount on the liability portion of the applicant's auto insurance premium. It is available to active-duty military personnel in the state, military reservists based in the state, and members of the Louisiana Army National Guard and Louisiana Air National Guard.
The change makes it so military members will only need to submit an application once and not annually. Military members should be able to provide orders showing assignment to a duty station in Louisiana or other proof of membership.
