The Alabama Department of Insurance published a bulletin announcing a revision to SERFF requirements and filing fees.
All rate and form filings in Alabama must be made through SERFF. Fees must be made by electronic funds transfer through SERFF; fees cannot be made by check or other non-EFT methods.

The P&C filing fees effective as of June 17, 2026, are as follows:

Any property, casualty, marine, and surety rate filing$125
Any property, casualty, marine, and surety rule filing$125
Any combination rate and rule filing$125
Any property, casualty, wet marine, marine, and title form filing (per form)$125
Any property, casualty, marine, and surety model filing$250
Additional charge for each model included in the filing$250

The maximum fee per submission is $6,000. Exceptions to the filing fees include special rated risks, "A" rated filings, non-adoption of rating organization filings, rated organization membership filings, and responses to pending filings.
