The South Carolina Department of Insurance published a bulletin announcing they will be reopening applications for the SC Safe Home Grant Program on Monday, July 13, 2026.

The program will provide eligible coastal homeowners with matching or non-matching grants ranging from $4,000 to $7,500 to help fortify their homes against storm damage. The grants will go toward improvements such as roof retrofits, window and door protection, and structural reinforcements.

Owner-occupied, single-family homes in coastal areas are eligible, and will be based on household income and other factors. The online application portal will open at 8:30 am on Monday, July 13, 2026.
