Fraud of the Week – Adjusting Without a License

Homeowners Fraud – Iowa

Amount – Unknown

A man was arrested and charged with two counts of acting as a public adjuster without a license and one count of insurance fraud presenting false information after an investigation by the Iowa Insurance Division's Fraud Bureau. The man was an employee of a construction company and negotiated claims on behalf of clients with multiple insurers. He also submitted invoices for work that had not yet been completed. Iowa restricts contractors from acting as public adjusters on an insurance claim.
