The Georgia Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire published a directive lifting the prohibition of cancellations in all counties affected by wildfire.

On April 23, 2026, the Commissioner issued a directive prohibiting the cancellation of policies for non-payment of premium in the many affected counties. On May 8, 2026, after successful recovery efforts, the directive no longer applies to many of the affected counties.

On May 27, 2026, after further successful recovery efforts, the prohibition has been lifted from all affected counties.

The directive can be found here.
