The Louisiana Department of Insurance published a bulletin providing guidance on the reporting requirements for residential property and private passenger automobile insurers.
The data call is required under Louisiana statutes and is used to help the Department monitor the market and investigate market conduct. The data must be reported by ZIP code and by policy type and coverage. Reporting requirements include:
- Number of policies written
- Number of policies cancelled and number of policies nonrenewed
- Total dollar amount of premiums written
- Total amount of insurance coverage in force
The data was previously required to be reported quarterly, but is now only required annually. Submissions for the 2026 calendar year data are due by February 28, 2027.
All admitted insurers, surplus line insurers, and surplus lines brokers operating in the state must submit Market Data through the Industry Access Portal.
The bulletin can be found here.
