A man was sentenced to 24 months probation for insurance fraud and identity fraud. The man pleaded guilty to one count of fraudulent insurance act and one felony count of identity theft. The man fraudulently used the identity of another person to purchase a vehicle and also purchase insurance for that vehicle. After an accident he then used the fraudulent policy to receive payment for damages to the vehicle. He has been sentenced to 24 months probation with 24 months of underlying prison time if the probation is violated. He was also ordered to pay $12,860 in restitution to the insurer.
