The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) published a bulletin announcing a data call for all insurance companies writing commercial property or businessowners insurance in the state.
The data call is for the 2025 property direct written premiums in the Texas catastrophe area. The Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) needs this information to calculate participation shares for assessments, in the event that they are required in 2026.
These types of companies must respond to the data call:
- Companies reporting 2025Texas commercial property or businessowners statistical data to ISO, under a minimum or limited reporting format that does not include ZIP code level detail
- Companies reporting 2025 Texas commercial property or businessowners statistical data to ISO, under a full reporting plan format where all four quarters of the 2025 data have not been fully accepted by ISO as of March 2, 2026. These companies must report premiums for the entire year, not just the quarters that ISO has not fully accepted
- Farm mutual insurance companies acting as fronting insurers
Companies subject to the data call are required to submit the TWIA Data Call Form and TWIA Data Call Affidavit by May 22, 2026.
The bulletin can be found here.
