The Oregon Division of Financial Regulation (DFR) published a press release announcing the opening of the Premium Assistance Program, designed to help with insurance premium costs for affordable housing providers.

The program comes from the passing of Senate Bill 829 in the 2025 legislative session and has designated almost $2.5 million in grants to go toward eligible entities. The grants will help with the rising costs of both property and liability insurance premiums.

Eligible entities include shelter providers, affordable housing providers, Project Turnkey sites, navigation centers, and local government entities. Entities must be located in Oregon and provide affordable housing to individuals or families earning at or below 80 percent of the Area Median Income.
