The Washington Office of the Insurance Commissioner published a news release announcing IBHS Wildfire Prepared Home designations are now available in the state, joining nine other states.

IBHS developed the program to help property owners reinforce their homes to reduce their exposure to wildfire risk. The program uses research-based mitigation techniques to harden homes against wildfire and other risks, which also has the benefit of enhanced access to insurance coverage. An extensive overview of the program can be read here: IBHS Wildfire Prepared Home Designation Overview.
