The South Carolina Department of Insurance published a bulletin announcing two upcoming data calls for commercial general liability and liquor liability, and paid family leave coverage.

Any insurer participating in the commercial general liability and liquor liability market is required to submit the data call. The information required by the data call should include data from the last ten calendar years, and must include the following:

  • The number of policies written in the state that provide coverage by insurers for liquor liability
  • The volume of earned premiums associated with the coverage provided
  • The number of claims closed with payments and the volume of those payments associated with liquor liability coverage
  • The number of claims open and the volume of actual reserves on those claims
  • The volume of reserves for incurred but not reported claims associated with liquor liability coverage
  • The sum of subrogation and salvage
  • The volume of combined losses as a percentage of premiums
  • The amount of profit as a percentage of premiums
  • The number of policies written in the state that provide coverage by insurers for commercial general liability
  • Information on how rates have changed over the past ten years

The data call is expected to have a June 2026 issuance date and an August 2026 response deadline. More information on the paid family leave data call can be found in the bulletin.
