I am trying to determine if the policy covers the replacement of the undamaged elevations of the siding when siding on only 1 elevation is being replaced due to the sustained hail damage.

Vinyl siding is old and there is an issue with finding a reasonably uniform matching product.

On one hand "Property Damage" is defined as physical damage only but there is additional endorsement Standard Fire Policy provision with wording "but not exceeding the amount that it would cost to repair or replace the property with material of LIKE KIND AND QUALITY within a reasonable time after such loss".

There is an exclusion for cosmetic damage but it does not directly address the obsolescence or difference in shape/color etc.

Please verify the coverage for the replacement of undamaged portions of the siding due to the unavailability of replacement materials of like kind and quality.

The exclusion for matching does address color and obsolescence as seen in 1) and 2) below. The color difference is definitely due to fading, oxidation, weathering, and 2) specifically addresses obsolescence or discontinuation of materials. With that policy language, there is no coverage for replacing the undamaged siding in order to match the newly replaced siding. This policy language was developed specifically to exclude situations such as yours.

"e) We will not be liable under a), b) or c) above for costs resulting from mismatch of existing undamaged roof and/or siding materials and new materials used to repair or replace damaged roof and/or siding because of:
1) color differences due to fading, oxidation, rust, corrosion, or weathering; or
2) obsolescence, unavailability, or discontinuation of existing materials. "
