A storm created an opening to the neighboring building which caused interior water damage to our insured's shared wall/ceiling.
My coverage question: Per the CP 1030 0607- Section C- Conditions 1.c.1;
Would coverage apply to the insured's building which did not sustain a created opening by a peril?

The policy exclusion reads that there will be no coverage to the interior of 'any' building or structure, or to personal property in 'the' building or structure - unless 'the' building or structure first sustains damage by a covered cause of loss to its roof or walls through which the rain, snow, sleet, ice, sand or dust enters...

Since the storm (rain/wind) is a covered cause of loss, and the building sustained damage to its walls/ceiling, creating an opening, then this meets the terms of the limitation as described in the policy and there should be coverage to that portion of damage that applies to the insured's premises. The policy does not specify that "the" building that first sustained the damage has to be an insured building.
