The Connecticut Insurance Department published a bulletin informing insurers of upcoming due dates for several reports.

The Professional Liability Business in Connecticut report is due by March 1annually.The report should include the number of cancellations and nonrenewals of professional liability insurance policies for the previous year. Insurers should report even if there have been no cancellations or nonrenewals.

Professional liability insurance includes policies for physicians, hospitals, lawyers, dentists, architects and engineers, chiropractors, licensed naturopaths, podiatrists, advanced practice registered nurses, and physical therapists, and other related professions adopted with the commissioner's discretion.

The Automobile liability policy information report is due by March1 annually.Insurers writing automobile liability policies in the state must report the following information for the previous year:

  • Number of policies in force on January 1
  • Number of car years of policies in force on January 1
  • Number of policies nonrenewed
  • Number of policies canceled
  • Number of new policies underwritten
  • Total number of policies in force on December 31
  • Number of car years of policies in force on December 31
