A man was arrested and charged with insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretenses, both felony charges. A misdemeanor charge of making a false report to a police station was also filed. The man claimed that his pickup truck had been stolen from a parking lot in North Carolina, when it was known to the man that the vehicle was towed from a gas station in Alabama. He presented his insurer with a fraudulent claim in order to receive a $24,134.82 payout for the vehicle.
