The South Carolina Department of Insurance published a bulletin announcing they will be reopening applications for the SC Safe Home Grant Program on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

The program will provide eligible coastal homeowners with matching or non-matching grants ranging from $4,000 to $7,500 to help fortify their homes against storm damage. The grants will go toward improvements such as roof retrofits, window and door protection, and structural reinforcements.

Owner-occupied, single-family homes in coastal areas are eligible, and will be based on household income and other factors. More information on the program can be found on the SC Safe Home website.
