Fraud of the Week– Chop Shop Ringleader Sentenced

The lead defendant ina chop shop conspiracy case was sentenced to 84 months in prison. He pled guilty to conspiring to transport stolen vehicles in interstate commerce and operating a chop shop to process vehicles.
Between October 2023 and October 2024, he worked with others to orchestrate an interstate stolen vehicles ring. During May 2024, his shop housed more than half a million dollars' worth of stolen cars and vehicle parts. Cars would be disassembled, and parts would be resold or installed on other vehicles, and he received and traded stolen vehicles out of state. The man was charged with six other individuals in November 2024.
