The Louisiana Department of Insurance published a bulletin clarifying the first annual reporting period due date for Regulation 138—Premium Discount for Dashboard Cameras with Telematic Systems: Commercial Motor Vehicles.

The regulation requires that commercial motor vehicle insurers in the state submit an annual report that includes the number of commercial motor vehicles that receive the discount, the aggregate savings provided to policyholders, and changes in claim frequency and severity due to dashboard cameras and telematics.

The regulation states that insurers must submit the annual report to the commissioner by the first of March every year. However, the Department clarifies that the first report is not due March 1, 2026, but by March 1, 2027.

The bulletin can be found here.
