The North Dakota Insurance & Securities Department published a bulletin informing insurers of the new publishing requirements for its Company Abstract of Statement.

House Bill 1398 amended N.D.C.C. §26.1-03-10, which now requires insurers to publish their Abstract in all eight judicial districts in North Dakota. The Abstract must be on a form approved by the commissioner and published in at least three newspapers in general circulation in each district. Insurers must provide proof of publication within four months of the filing of the Abstract.

In addition to submitting the Abstract to the commissioner’s portal, insurers must also submit it to the North Dakota Newspaper Association (NDNA) here. Abstracts submitted to the NDNA will be published within a qualifying newspaper in each of the eight districts.
