The deadline for the current round of Louisiana Fortify Homes Program (LFHP) has been extended to 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, due to the Cloudflare outage that occurred on Tuesday. Even if a homeowner has registered in prior rounds, they must register in this round to be considered for this and future rounds.
Participants must create a profile on the LFHP website and complete a profile. If a homeowner has already completed a profile in previous rounds, the same profile may be used for this and future rounds to register.
There are 1,000 grants available in this round limited to Louisiana’s Coastal Zone, Lake Charles, Sulphur, and Westlake.
The program provides grants of up to $10,000 to upgrade their roofs to standards set by the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety. The homeowners are responsible for all costs beyond the full grant amount, including evaluation fees. Eligibility and other information may be found at fortifyhomes.la.gov. A full copy of the bulletin may be found here.
