The Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs published a news release announcing that DTRIC Insurance has decided to withdraw from the Hawaii market.

DTRIC Insurance will not issue new policies or renew existing policies, but will continue to administer active policies and manage claims over the next few years. Policyholders are encouraged to seek other coverage options.

Consumer resources for homeowners and motor vehicle insurance can be found on the Department website. Insurance Commissioner Scott Saiki warns insureds to verify they are using an authorized and licensed broker, advising they can use the insurance licensee search tool found here.

The news release can be found here.
