The South Carolina Department of Insurance published a bulletin announcing a data call related to Tropical Storm Helene Insurance Claims.

The data call is for all insurers authorized to write property and casualty insurance in the state, including licensed insurers, eligible surplus lines insurers, and companies that write private and/or excess flood insurance coverage.

The data call asks only for claims related to Tropical Storm Helene to be reported; all other claims should be excluded. The data also does not apply to life or health insurers, monoline financial guaranty, mortgage guaranty, title, fidelity and surety, workers’ compensation, medical malpractice insurers, professional liability insurers, or reinsurers.

The first report is due by Friday, October 10, 2025, for claims reported as of Saturday, September 27, 2025. The second report is due by Friday, January 9, 2026, for claims reported as of Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

The claims reporting spreadsheet must be submitted through the NAIC RDC Portal.
