The Oregon Division of Financial Regulation published a memorandum announcing it has added a public adjuster license class, which is now distinguished from an independent adjuster license class.

Any individual or business entity that currently holds an independent adjuster license but is a public adjuster or agency can request to change their license for free. An adjuster cannot hold both a public adjuster and an independent adjuster license at the same time. A request can be made by email to [email protected].

This change is effective August 1, 2025. Public adjuster applications will be available at www.nipr.com on August 18, 2025. From August 15, 2025, and onward, paper applications will no longer be accepted for licensing or renewals for public adjusters.
