The Louisiana Department of Insurance published an advisory letter informing insurers of a change to Louisiana insurance law.

Act 11 of the 2025 Regular Legislative Session amended La. R.S. 22:8891.1, which states that all insurers issuing homeowners or private passenger motor vehicle policies in the state must include the previous policy premium when renewing a policy. The last premium should be clearly displayed and near the renewal premium.

All insurers must be in compliance with La. R.S 22:881:1 starting January 1, 2026.

The advisory letter can be found here.
