The New Hampshire Insurance Department published a bulletin informing insurance producers licensed in the state of their expectations under NH statutes.

The Department has heard many consumer complaints alleging that insurance producers have engaged in misrepresentation and fraudulent enrollment practices. The Department has found many cases where the producer of record for a sale is not the person who spoke with the consumer and sold them the policy.

A producer signing a policy as the producer of record when they had no interaction with the consumer violates NH law. Producers found in violation may be subject to a fine of up to $2,500, probation, or license suspension or revocation.
