The California Department of Insurance published a press release announcing the creation of the LA County Wildfire Claims Tracker, which will provide transparency to consumers and the general public.

The LA County Wildfire Claims Tracker shows the number of claims filed, the number of claims partially paid, and the total amount paid to date for claims related to the Eaton and Palisades Fires. The tracker will be updated regularly as more data becomes available.

The current numbers as of the January 30, 2025 update are:

  • 31,210 claims filed
  • 14,417 claims partially paid
  • $4.2 billion in claims paid

These numbers include home, business, and living expenses, as well as other disaster-related claims and any advance payments made. Notably missing are property rebuilding and debris removal data, which will be added when rebuilding starts.
