Three people have been arrested for defrauding an auto insurer for more than $47,000 in PIP claims. The three submitted bills for physical therapy treatment that was never actually provided to the cooperating witnesses. Under the supervision of detectives, cooperating witnesses visited the clinic once a week. The providers gave them blank therapy forms to sign but never provided any type of of treatment. The three providers surrendered to authorities and have been charged with RICO/Racketeering, Insurance Fraud and Grand Theft. If convicted, the three could each face up to 20 years in prison.
