The North Carolina Department of Insurance (NCDOI) published a press release announcing the availability of two Victim Assistance Centers (VAC) to assist those impacted by Hurricane Helene. They will be in Gastonia and North Wilkesboro. 

The Centers will be available to provide in-person assistance to consumers and answer insurance-related questions. NCDOI plans to open more VACs in other locations in the near future. They are also coordinating with law enforcement agencies, emergency management, fire departments, rescue squads, charities, churches, and civic groups to provide assistance to those affected. 

The first VAC will open on Friday, October 4th. Details are below:
