A woman has been arrested and charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretenses. She filed a claim for damages to her vehicle by a hit-and-run driver, and then several months later claimed that the vehicle had been hit by a bird. She was released on $5,000 bond; both charges are felonies. She has also been charged with filing a false police report, a misdemeanor offense.
