A man on Washington State's Insurance Fraud Most Wanted List pled guilty to two counts of filing a fraudulent insurance claim. He had filed two claims for stolen vehicles that he actually sent to Liberia. In 2013 he first claimed a vehicle had been stolen and was paid $8,860.64. A few months later he reported an $11,253 motorcycle as being stolen, raising the suspicions of his insurer, who upon investigation discovered both vehicles had been sent to Liberia. He then withdrew the claims and reimbursed the company the $8,860 he'd been paid for the first ehicle. The insurer referred the claims to the Criminal Investigations Unit as required.
