Homeowners Fraud – North Carolina

Amount – $4890

A woman was charged with eleven counts of insurance fraud, ten counts of obtaining property by false pretense and one count of attempting to obtain property by false pretense. The woman filed claims for power outages and spoiled food at two different residences. She was paid $4,890 from her insurer after submitting the claims for two locations. However, the investigation showed that the power was out only once for one hour and fifteen minutes.
