Homeowners Fraud -Georgia
Amount – $25,000
A man has been charged with insurance fraud and forgery for a claim over $25,000 of supposedly missing jewelry. The man claimed that $25,000 of jewelry being sent to New York for appraisal was lost. He submitted receipts for the jewelry and a package receipt to his insurer to substantiate his claim. Upon investigation, the insurer discovered that the package receipt was a forgery and that the jewelry was not picked up by the mail carrier. A warrant has been issued for the man's arrest.
