Five people have been charged with one felony count each of insurance fraud after an investigation by the insurer. Surveillance video from a nearby home showed one of the people leaving a vehicle in the middle of an intersection, while another person crashed into the first vehicle before both parties fled the scene. The woman who filed a claim for a hit and run was actually seen by witnesses walking to the accident after the vehicles had collided.
