A man has been charged with two counts of insurance fraud for claiming that 2 gold bracelets were stolen after an auto accident. In September 2020 the man bought a gold bracelet worth $7,062. He later claimed that the property had been stolen. In October he submitted a fraudulent insurance application for the original bracelet and another bracelet supposedly bought in 2014 for more than $16,000. In December 2020, he was involved in an auto accident and made a claim for both bracelets, claiming they were lost in the auto accident. Upon investigation it was discovered that the $7,062 bracelet had been returned by the man to the store and he had received a refund. Warrants for his arrest have been issued.
