Homeowners Fraud – North Carolina

Amount – $2007.99

A man was arrested and charged with insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretense, both felonies. He reported damage to several items of personal property from a water leak to his insurer. He received a partial payment of $2,007.99. Upon investigation, it was discovered that two of the items were damaged by a different cause, and that altered repair invoices were submitted as well.
