A woman has been arrested and charged with one count of insurance fraud and one count of obtaining property by false pretenses, both of which are felonies. She made a claim with her insurance company for fire damage to her kitchen; she provided the company with documentation for damages amounting to $19,449.31. Upon investigation it was discovered that no fire had actually occurred, the documents and photos were fraudulent, and this was part of a multi-person fraud ring that is still under investigation.
