A man was arrested and charged with one count of attempting to obtain property by false pretense, which is a felony. The man is accused of presenting an inflated towing bill to his insurance company for an accident in September. The investigating agents accused the man of trying to defraud the insurer out of $5,880. Warrants for arrest were issued after the investigation and the man surrendered to authorities. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.
