Fraud of the Week
Homeowners Fraud – Georgia
Amount – +$1,300
A woman was charged with insurance fraud for submitting false claims to her insurance company. She had submitted claims damages from a power outage that included damage to electronics and food spoilage. Her insurer paid her over $1,300 for the claims. Upon investigation, the power company did not find any power irregularities at the supposed time and date of loss. The pictures used as evidence were taken outside of those times, and the woman later admitted to using pictures from other dwellings as evidence in her claims.
