An agent who also had served as mayor of Elgin entered a guilty plea to theft of property after being accused of stealing premium payments in an amount between $30,000 – $150,000. He collected payments from a Backhoe company and instead of submitting the payments to the insurers, pocketed the money. He was sentenced to ten years of community service with 50 hours required per year.
