Fraud of the Week

Auto Fraud – Georgia

Amount – unspecified

A man has been charged with one count of insurance fraud for filing a claim twice for the same vehicle for the same damage. The man was involved in an accident and received $3749.23 for damages to the vehicle. One month later, he was involved in another accident and submitted a claim again. Upon review, the photos showed the identical damage the man had made a claim for from the first accident. When asked for proof the vehicle had been repaired before the second accident occurred, he submitted a bill with phony details. The shop he claimed fixed his vehicle does not work on those models.
