A motorist struck a pedestrian and then left the scene without reporting the accident to the police. Later that day she parked her car on a public street before calling the police and claiming it had been stolen and then filing a claim with her insurance company for the supposedly stolen vehicle. She is being charged with leaving the scene of an accident without reporting, third-degree insurance fraud, tampering with physical evidence, and making a punishable false written statement. She did turn herself in to authorities.
